My Vision

My vision is for everyone I meet to feel the joy I found in Christ. I wake up everyday feeling the love and joy only He provides. I feel the warmth his love brings. I feel validated, worthy, cherished, chosen, and beloved by him. I want everyone to have a chance to feel this way. Imagine being in a cold room for so long that you can not help but shiver, then imagine seeing sunlight, but knowing you can not reach it - forever being stuck in the cool shadows, without being able to experience the warmth of the sunlight, being just out of reach. Thats like the person who is unsaved. They are stuck in a cold place, of not knowing the warmth of God. Now imagine being that person in the cool shadow, but being able to step into the warm light. At first you simply feel better. But then after standing in the light for a few second you feel actual heat on your skin, the feeling of heat slowly spreads across every inch of exposed skin. Then as you stand in the sun a few more seconds longer you feel the heat even across your skin that is covered by clothing too. This is what it is like to be a person choosing to accept the love of Christ. It slowly transforms their life and way of being. The warmth of Christ grows deeper and stronger.

I want my life to help people experience that jump of stepping from the shadows into the sunlight. I want God’s love and warmth to be projected out of my life so that when people come in contact with me they feel that warmth. I want to leave people better than when I found them.

Billy Graham compared believing in God to wind. You can not see the wind, but you can see the effects of wind. I think of my life that way. We may not be able to see God, but I want to live in a way that people see my life as an effect of believing in him. That my life points to something bigger than myself. To live in a way that people know I have found something that causes me to live so differently that it has to be a side effect of something bigger. And as wind goes, you can watch it spread. First one tree moves, than the wind travels, moving the next tree, and the next tree, and the next tree and so on. Like wise I want my life to leave a trail like that. I want Jesus in me to impact a person, and then that person to impact another person, and then that person to impact another person, and so on - like falling dominoes. To have an impact that impacts other to impact others. I want to live a life outside of myself.
